My Burberry Field Sneakers Review

Burberry Field Sneakers Review

I first spotted these Burberry Field Sneakers In Colour Block Suede And Mesh last year in their Flag Ship store in London. Normally it’s not a style of shoe I would show any interest towards, typically I would brush the design off as too sporty. Yet, despite this I was still drawn towards them, so much so that I featured them in a previous article. However, due to their fairly high retail price I soon put them to the back of my mind, at least until the recent Burberry sale!

Once my girlfriend informed me of the massive discount applied to a large portion of their collection, I began to browse online, soon enough I was reunited with these sneakers once again, my memories of them flooding back. I debated about them for a short while, but broke down and decided to at least try them. I’d have only regretted it in the future! I’ve been indecisive about trying out that unusual mix of designer sports sneakers for some time, as I previously mentioned it’s not something I typically wear yet is becoming increasingly popular, as GQ hinted at the future in their uprising article seen here.

Upon receiving the parcel (with a particularly fancy packaging I might add, gold lining on the inside of the shipping box!) I opened the contents with glee and a touch of hesitation, greeted with quite possibly one of the best looking pairs of fashionable sneakers I’ve laid my eyes on. I instantly concluded that I had made the correct decision in purchasing.

I chose the greystone colour scheme, comprising of autumn greys and browns. For this time of year, this is the perfect pairing with the majority of outfits. They are constructed with a mix of Italian suede and the more modern mesh fabric, the combination of which just gels perfectly. There is the very minimal amount of branding (something I prefer), the Burberry name is embossed on the heel side of the trainers, only legible from a close distance.

The best design work in the world amounts to nothing if the fit doesn’t follow through, I’m glad to inform that Burberry didn’t disappoint in this respect either. I chose a UK 8 (EU42) which is my normal size for the majority of designer brand footwear. Super comfortable on the feet, nice and soft with a good amount of padding. In fact, perfectly suitable if you decide to go sockless, as I do quite often. Usually this inevitable causes some discomfort throughout the course of the day, not so with these Field Sneakers. Built to give comfort for the maximum amount of wear!

Bonus points are awarded for the fact they were already laced up straight from the box, ready to wear! More often than not in recent years, you are left to do this yourself (first world problems here). Additionally they were laced in the method I prefer, neat with the end thread under so the lace ends can be hidden when worn for the sleeker look I favour.

So in conclusion, these Burberry The Field Sneakers In Colour Block Suede And Mesh are definitely worth the investment, in fact I’m considering another pair in one of the many alternative colour schemes for future outfits on my men’s fashion blog. Historically Burberry has released updates each season, so I will be keeping a good eye out for the new styles in the forthcoming year.

Oh yeah, I know what you mean about having to do the lacing yourself. That’s never easy. The first one is usually OK to do but then it’s getting the second one to match – or, rather, mirror the first one which is tricky. 😀

These are really nice shoes. 🙂 Great colours and not too sporty at all.

Yes, trying to match both pairs is a challenge in itself! Fortunately these never gave me that issue 😉

Thanks, yeah I’m loving these sneakers at the moment!
