Debenhams Daniel Rynne Collection

Debenhams Daniel Rynne Collection

For my latest post, I will be taking a closer look at a new partnership between the well-respected Debenhams department store and upcoming ‘pop up’ designer – Daniel Rynne. Read on to find out more!

Daniel Rynne has proved himself to be a hot property in the fashion world and in record time too! His first steps into the menswear world began when he enrolled at the Arts University in Bournemouth, creating a phenomenal collection inspired by the depression era of 1930’s rural America. His elaborate designs were pulled straight from his own unique vision, with a touch of influence from the renowned designer – Doretha Lange, whose own creations also take inspiration from this time period.

The wheels began turning fast and Daniel was crowned the winner of the Menswear Award At Graduate Fashion Week 2017, following swiftly on from this success he quickly obtained an internship at Debenhams, working closely with their in-house design team. Within only a short year he successfully transitioned his well-received graduation collection into a fully fledged commercial line. This new and exclusive range is now available to buy online and in a handful of their stores.

This AW18 collection contains a wide variety of very unique pieces which are undeniably on-trend. Each item opts for a modern take on the classic workwear style, offering a muted colour palette in rich khaki and sandy hues along with an exceptional level of detail across the whole range.

For my closer look at this unique collection, I picked out the Daniel Rynne – Tan Cotton And Wool Blend Mantle Jacket which instantly highlights the quality of this collection, starting from its initial design and evident all the way through its production process up until it safely reaches the shop floor. The number of details included on the coat is astonishing, mixing a combination of zippers and buttons to ensure the wearer has a variety of choices in which to style it in their own image. Fashioned in an understated beige and brown, enabling you to relive past decades when garish vibrant colours didn’t tarnish the clothing world. The quality of the coat continues to impress when worn, the calibre of the fabric is instantly apparent. Thick warm materials expertly constructed together to form an overall great fit for an outerwear item of clothing.

The Daniel Rynne – Blue Cotton Chambray Patch Shirt featured in my photos boasts an equally massive level of high production values, stitched together perfectly without even a hint of a flaw or incorrectly positioned thread. The shirt fits exactly as you would expect from a 1930’s era, in which it takes inspiration. Regular fit, but not overly loose, combined with a unique curved hem to give a very fashion-forward look, ensuring it stands out against the army of denim shirts which oversaturate the market.

Overall I am very pleased with my initial encounter with this new collection, definitely a different look from my usual styles, with fashion it is always good to branch out of your comfort zone and experience different designers.

What do you think of this latest collection from Debenhams? Is it the kind of style you would like to see more of on the blog? Please let me know in the comments below!
