Why Feeling Fine Isn’t A Healthy Guarantee

Why Feeling Fine Isn’t A Healthy Guarantee

There is a long-standing belief that if you look good and feel fine, then you must be healthy. This mindset offers a comfortable illusion that everything is ‘A-ok’ – unfortunately, our internal system is not as transparent, and health issues can appear without warning. In my latest article, I will discuss the telltale signs that indicate you have underlying health issues.

Even if you have healthy habits in your daily routine, such as regular sessions at the gym, you enjoy the occasional salad, and there is no evidence that you are suffering from unknown health symptoms, there could be something dangerous simmering beneath the surface that could take you by surprise.

For a real-world example, consider the workings of a car –

Just because it starts each morning, it doesn’t mean that the engine oil isn’t running low. It will keep running until the day it doesn’t.

The body works in precisely the same manner; as such, it can be a considerable risk to assume that you are fine because you feel ‘ok’.

Hidden Symptoms That Fly Under The Radar

High blood pressure is a perfect example of a hidden threat – it doesn’t hurt or slow you down (many people won’t even feel a thing). However, it is one of the leading risk factors for heart disease and strokes.

You could very well be enjoying your lifestyle habits without a care in the world, while your internal numbers are way above normal safety levels (and you will be unaware until a medical professional checks you out).

Furthermore, vitamin deficiencies can manifest in a similar style. You could be low in vitamin D (affecting your mood and bone health) or your iron levels are not optimal, which in turn lowers your energy, making you tired, and you will not even know why.

Potentially deadlier problems (such as type 2 diabetes or heart disease) can often build up very slowly (almost without symptoms), and once they have taken hold, the damage is already done.

The Importance Of Regular Screening

When we were younger, there were seemingly never-ending trips to the doctor (or even dentist), ensuring our health was always in tip-top shape. But once we hit adulthood, and these practices are in our own hands, this self-care tends to slip.

It is essential to continue with these checkups, as they are designed to pick up on issues that we otherwise cannot see or feel, revealing what exactly is going on inside the body long before it gets out of hand!

Fortunately, there are many programmes which have been designed around health screening for men in order to flag up any issues (such as risk of heart disease, diabetes or deficiencies) in their early stages, so that you are in a better position to defend yourself.

When you are fully aware of what is going on within your own body, it gives you a lot more options and solutions to protect your health.

Healthy Habits Are Not The Whole Story

Even though a commitment to exercise and a balanced diet are excellent lifestyle habits, they are ultimately not a guarantee of perfect health. It is unfortunate that life doesn’t always work that way – genetics, stress, life choices and even luck all play a huge part.

Even those who enjoy long cardio sessions, lifting heavy weights, and the occasional half-marathons can still encounter cholesterol levels that are through the roof.

In summary, even with proactive health care, staying fit, and eating the best foods, it’s essential to make regular appointments with your local doctor to protect yourself from sudden health issues.
