How To Make Extra Money To Build Your Wardrobe
As a fashionable guy, you are always looking for the next addition to your wardrobe—whether it’s the latest trendy jumper, classic overcoat, or a cool new accessory. However, many stylish pieces can cost a pretty penny, and it can be hard to justify the cost! In my latest article, I will suggest a number of ways you can make extra money to allow you to splash the cash on new clothes! Carry on reading for more.
Sell Unwanted Items
One of the best ways to make some extra cash (and fast) is to sell old or unwanted goods from around the home. Whether it is clothing items that have fallen out of popularity (especially if the trend has passed) or no longer fit, tech goods (such as old phones if you have recently upgraded), or gaming consoles and games, they are all fantastic ways to fill your pockets with extra dough.
There are more than a few popular ways to sell, listed here –
- EBay – the popular choice, allowing you to sell almost anything. Recently, they changed their terms, scrapping the fees when selling clothes.
- Vinted – another great option in which there are no fees, and the buyers pay for everything (including shipping costs). The only downside is you have to wait for the funds to clear after they receive the product.
- Gumtree / Facebook Marketplace – If you are okay with meeting the buyer face to face, Gumtree or Facebook Marketplace are excellent alternative choices. However, your reach will be far lower, but the advantage of having cash in hand should not be dismissed.
Offer Services Online
In the modern age, many people can utilise their skills and make money online. Here are a couple of examples –
Offer your photography or editing skills to different brands. Take photos or videos of their products or even create banners or adverts for them to use (and this is something you can complete in your own time).
If you are a newly graduated student or highly knowledgeable in a specific subject, you can offer online teaching courses and earn additional money. From English literature to programming to Photoshop skills, there are never-ending opportunities for would-be teachers to earn extra cash.
Many companies frequently look for data-entry clerks who need regular information inserted into their databases or onto their websites (especially in the e-commerce sector). It may be a rather tedious job, but it is often well-paid and ideal if you want to update your tired-looking wardrobe choices.
Weekend / Evening Jobs
If your regular wage is simply not cutting it and you want to upgrade your wardrobe (especially with the rising cost of living), consider an extra job during the evenings or weekends. During the festive season, many companies will be looking for a temporary increase in their workforce to accommodate the additional sales.
Other top ideas are evening or weekend bar/pub/restaurant jobs—many companies in the hospitality sector will always be looking for new staff (they typically have a fast turnaround with their employees), and it will often be fairly simple to learn the ropes.
Alternatively, you could always apply for jobs with a courier company like DPD, Yodel, or even Amazon. Many companies will allow you to work your own hours (within reason) and use your own vehicle so you can drop off parcels throughout the day.
Online Surveys
Completing and participating in online surveys is a great way to supplement your income. Check online for the best companies that offer a fair rate per completed survey.
You can earn a few pence up to a few pounds per article (although it is not unusual to earn considerably more in certain circumstances). The length of completion can vary wildly, from a few minutes to upwards of half an hour (so always consider the length in relation to the fee to work out if it is worth your time).
If you want to add a steady flow of additional cash into your pockets so you can elevate your wardrobe, then the options in my latest article will help tremendously. Will you be looking to sell your unwanted items, offer online services, take a part-time job, or complete online surveys to boost your funds? If so, I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments section at the bottom of this article.
