Top 5 Men’s Fragrances For Your Summer Holiday
As we head into summer, it is only natural to think about flying off to a hot and sunny destination, relaxing by the pool or on the sandy beaches. Typically, you think about what outfits you will be wearing, but something else often overlooked is what perfume to pack for your vacation. In my latest article, I will choose my top 5 men’s fragrance choices.
For that complete outfit ensemble, there are a lot of factors to consider – top, trousers, footwear, accessories and perfume to seal the deal. For a scent that will see you through your trip abroad, you need to choose something that will work for the journey to your destination and be suitable for both days out and evening wear. Additionally, you want to save as many pennies as you can for your trip, so always watch for any good discounts or even a perfume sale that you can take advantage of.
Special note – if you are travelling abroad via plane, remember that you can only travel with bottles containing 100ml or less for your carry-on hand luggage.
Here are my top 5 choices –
Montblanc Legend Red
Eye-catching with its bold red bottle, ideal for making a statement in front of fellow holidaymakers. Incidentally, the red edition is the anniversary release celebrating the highly popular and classic Montblanc Black.
The exceptional Montblanc fragrance boasts a gorgeous mix of blood orange, grapefruit and cardamom for an undeniably zesty scent that also includes cedar, mahogany and tonic bean that is the perfect accompaniment as you walk across that sandy beach, the waves lapping at your bare heels. It is a unique concoction as it is suitable for both formal and informal occasions, ideal for that trip away in the sun!
Yves Saint Laurent M8 Oud Absolu
Yves Saint Laurent has always been one of my favourite brands (I have multiple footwear items in my collection! – special note goes to my beloved Wyatt Boots), and their men’s fragrances are equally stunning. The bottle of the M8 is bold yet subtle, with a solid yellow/gold look that suits your summer vacation aesthetic.
Your senses will be awash with a variety of smells thanks to the inclusion of patchouli and tangerine, along with timeless myrrh, agarwood and finally, labdanum. The oud perfume has been popular since its release in 2011, so it will easily complete your holiday fragrance needs.
Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Pour Homme Eau Intense
That baby blue colouring for this D&G fragrance will draw you in, like the ocean from a faraway land (well, at least one you will visit for your upcoming dream holiday!). Just imagine taking some arty shots of this stunningly designed bottle sitting amongst the waves!
The scent itself boasts a selection of cool flavours, including grapefruit and a touch of tangerine, but then the hint of juniper will hit you, followed by a subtle hint of musk and amber wood.
Overall, undoubtedly a lovely perfume for summer, one that you will be more than happy to have joining you on your getaway in the sun.
Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male Le Parfum
The Le Male perfumes from Gaultier have stood the test of time; from their iconic advertisements that got everyone talking to the sensual bottle designs (for both him and her), they are iconic (and not in an overused way, as we hear so often).
Ingredients include a taste of vanilla paired with spicy cardamom, a dash of iris and concluding with a hint of lavender – perfect for both day and night wear.
The idea behind this creation is that the perfume is a captain of a ship, which makes this fragrance ideal for a holiday by the sea (your chosen perfume will ensure any jaunts across the waves will be smooth sailing).
Carolina Herrera Bad Boy Cobalt
That bolt of lighting bottle tells it all; your holiday will be a striking hit if you wear this unique eau de perfume from Carolina Herrera (for many years, I wore the 212, which received a fantastic response from everyone I knew!).
Aside from the amazingly designed bottle, this scent includes an array of delicious flavourings, including geranium and black plum, a heady mix of pink peppers and lavender, and a sprinkle of smokey oak wood, vetiver and truffles. With its cobalt blue bottle, lightning shape and fruity scent, your trip to that holiday poolside will be one to remember.
Do you like the fragrance choices I have picked out, or do your tastes lay elsewhere? I’d love to hear what perfumes you take on your next holiday adventure.
