Despite the enormous benefits of wearing an automatic watch, there is one major downside. If left unworn, the movement will come to a stop as it no longer receives a constant charge via regular movement. The time (and even the date) will be incorrect, requiring you to reset the positioning, which can take a substantial amount of time as you wind the hands around (especially if the watch has been unworn for an extended period).

My main timepiece is my Omega Aqua Terra (reviewed here), which I am guilty of leaving unworn for several days at a time – as such, it is a primary candidate for a watch winder.

The Mozsly Brand was founded in 2018 by a team of watch enthusiasts who sought to offer a budget-friendly alternative to the typically overpriced products that overwhelm the market. They offer both single and double models in a variety of designs and colours.

For the following review, I will check out the Mozsly Single Winder in brown leather.

Style & Design

The typical look of a watch winder is a sharp, straight-edged box, lending it a modern appearance. Mozsly do offer this popular style of winder, but also offers several unique designs within their collection. I am a fan of something that looks a little different; as such, I was instantly attracted to the brown leather model.

The front section of the winder is crafted from a shiny, piano-esque finish which surrounds the internal holding for your watch (which includes a cushioned foam pad that can easily fit a bracelet between 6.7-inch and 8.7-inch). You can further protect your beloved timepiece with a silver screw-in circular cover featuring a clear-plastic window.

The housing is coated in a deep brown leather, which is soft to the touch. It adds an element of timeless (pun intended) visual appeal to the overall design – something you would be proud to have in your gentleman’s closet. Finally, Mozsly has avoided any overly garish branding by opting for a minimal logo on the front (top-right) of the winder.

The single watch winders are available in the following colour-ways –

Functionality

The flagship single-winder is undoubtedly an eye-catching accessory, but under the hood is a fantastic, ultra-quiet Japanese motor which can run at different settings, depending on your personal preference (650, 850, 1050 or 1250 daily rotations).

The detailed rotation information is as follows for turns per day –

TPD mode

● 1: 650TPD, running time 3 minutes 28 seconds, rest time 56 minutes 32 seconds.

● 2: 850TPD, running time 4 minutes 28 seconds, rest time 55 minutes and 32 seconds.

● 3: 1050TPD, running time 5 minutes and 28 seconds, rest time 54 minutes and 32 seconds.

● 4: 1250TPD, running time 6 minutes and 28 seconds, rest time 53 minutes and 32 seconds.

Each winder can be powered by either dual AA batteries or the included AC adaptor plug (provided with the correct country-specific plug when ordered). Additionally, multiple winders can be connected together (using the included cable) and then powered by a wall socket.

Packaging

The Mozsly Winder arrives safely secured in a sturdy box, with the contents further protected by solid polystyrene around the device. The packaging is not going to change the world, but it was never intended to. It simply (yet satisfactorily) serves a functional purpose with great success.

Value For Money

Most watch winders on the market command an unreasonable price point (often in the hundreds). Many brands set this RRP to reflect the premium costs of your typical automatic watch. However, these rates are overinflated numbers.

Fortunately, Mozsly is keen to combat this way of thinking by offering watch winders at a more than reasonable £69 (at the time of publication), whereas the double winder costs £122. These prices are more than reasonable, considering the quality on offer. Also, ensuring that your watch maintains perfect time is a priceless benefit that is hard to pass up.

Conclusion

If you are on the hunt for a high-quality watch winder that offers eye-catching good looks, expert functionality, and won’t break your budget, then head over to Mozsly today and invest in one of their top-level watch winders. In short, these horological creations receive top marks from me!
