How To Add Unique Touches To Your Wardrobe
Fashion is intended to be a fun aspect of life—choosing different clothing pieces, footwear, and accessories. But sometimes, it feels like we are all following the exact same style guide without a hint of personality that makes it our own. In my latest article, I will offer top tips on adding unique touches to your wardrobe. Carry on reading for more.
Play With Unexpected Accessories
One of the best ways to improve your outfit without a complete wardrobe overhaul is to take full advantage of accessories. A simple item (such as a bag, scarf, or necklace) can transform your look into something totally new and visually impressive.
Hats, belts, sunglasses, and more can add a tremendous amount of personality, and their individual details will ensure you make your mark. Crucially, you can even wear the exact outfit repeatedly (especially if it’s one of your favourites!) and just switch up the accessories to create an entirely fresh ensemble (with minimal effort), allowing it to work for different events and occasions.
Incorporate Statement Jewellery
Jewellery is an excellent method of adding personality to your wardrobe (and one of my favourite ways to accessorise). It can be equally subtle or bold (depending on your taste or preference), which is its overall beauty and why it is such a versatile option.
Consider layered necklaces, bracelets (like a cuff or chain), or even a delicate ring (or two or three)—ultimately, the choice is yours.
Do you want to go one step further and push those boundaries? Then consider body jewellery, which is an edgy way to express your inner style. Septum rings or ear cuffs are fantastic options (but many other styles are also available). Whatever you choose, body jewellery allows you to add a unique personal touch that will set your style apart from the crowd.
Furthermore, it is a great way to mix different ideas and styles (so you do not have to try “too hard” to be yourself).
Mix Textures And Fabrics
It’s important to remember that fashion is not just about colour and fit—it is also about how things feel (quite literally). Playing with different textures allows you to add much-needed depth to your outfit, making it far more visually striking (as such, it is always a fun idea to try out!).
Consider pairing cashmere with leather, denim with suede, or chunky knits with silk—there are so many combinations to experiment with!
Mixing fabrics gives you a better idea of what works with what and determines what will suit you best. You will also be able to reuse all sorts of different elements of your outfit, saving you extra cash in the long run.
Final Thoughts
The number one secret to creating a unique wardrobe is actually shying away from trends. Instead, make your style your own, and you will discover that fashion feels much more personal and your wardrobe will be totally original. So why not start today, have fun, and play around with different looks and styles? You will be able to totally elevate your wardrobe to the next level.
