Naked Whey Protein Powder Review

Naked Whey Protein Powder Review

If you are a fitness lover, one of the most critical factors (along with working out) is your diet. This important element is crucial for muscle growth, fat loss and recovery. For many busy go-getters, hitting your daily protein target can be a challenge, and this is where Protein Powder comes into play – an essential supplement that can help you achieve your bodybuilding goals. In my latest review, I will be checking out Naked Nutrition and their additive/sweetener-free whey powder. Continue reading for more.

Even though health and fitness tips and advice can vary dramatically (depending on who you ask and where you look), one thing is clear across the board – protein is vital to gain muscle. It is considered optimal to consume 1 gram of protein powder per pound of body weight (ie if you weigh 175 pounds, you need to eat 175 grams of protein each day to see substantial gains).

Unfortunately, to achieve this objective, it can take a whole lot of eating! Protein powders were invented to take the edge off this task, allowing you to ‘supplement’ your diet by incorporating a quick protein shake into your daily schedule (a popular time is straight after a workout to refuel your body and support muscle growth and recovery).

Brand Story

Naked Nutrition was launched in 2014 by former cross-country and track All-American Stephen Zieminski, who wanted to offer products that focused on health and fitness without any unnecessary ingredients, which contained very little nutritional value (such as artificial colours, sweeteners, mixing agents, and flavours).

Their Whey products are produced from grass-fed Northern California and Idaho cows, whereas their Naked Pea products are made from raw yellow peas grown in the USA and Canada. Furthermore, the majority of their items contain three ingredients (or less), with a range of 50 products in their collection.

Flavour & Taste

Even though the various health benefits should be at the top of your list when investing in a protein powder, flavour is easily second on the list! (After all, if it tastes great, it will be far easier to stick to using it in your routine). Naked Nutrition offers its Whey Protein powder in unflavoured, chocolate or vanilla (I chose the latter).

I have tried various brands in the past (with some offering a wide choice of flavours), but more often than not, they were sickly sweet (which made them difficult to drink, especially quickly). No worries in this area with Naked Whey, the vanilla flavour is delicious! It can be enjoyed with water, milk, or even blended with fruits and nuts. You will actually be craving your shake ahead of time (it tastes that good!).

Packaging

The packaging of all Naked Nutrition products matches their MO of creating supplements that include no extra additives and colouring – it is simple, plain yet effective.

The protein tub has been manufactured using a clear plastic (so you can view the contents – actually helping to guide you on how much you have left!) along with a plain white label with black text. The screw lid is black and easily comes off in a pinch. All of the product information is displayed on the reverse of the label, so there are no hidden surprises.

Value For Money

There is no question that the price of protein powder varies wildly! In the past, I have tried both premium and budget options, and in my opinion, you need to splash out a little extra to receive a quality supplement. Naked Whey offers its collection in the higher end of the market, however, thanks to the quality on offer (along with the pure protein without unwanted extras), the RRP is more than justified. Furthermore, if you opt for the subscription model, you save a substantial amount of cash each month (which would be a wise choice for many bodybuilders).

Overall

If you are looking to boost your gym game, consider incorporating Naked Whey into your daily nutritional routine. You can increase your protein intake with a shake that tastes fantastic, without any unwanted chemicals or ingredients – instead, just pure goodness for your body and workout gains!
