How To Look, Feel & Do Your Best At Work
Whether you work in an office, are on the road, or run your own business, it is crucial that you love your job and that it utilises your skills and abilities to the max. If your occupation (or business) is a dream goal, you need to ensure that you keep hold of it. In my latest article, I discuss a number of ways to look, feel, and do your absolute best in the workplace.
It is indisputable that work takes up a significant amount of time and energy (especially if you work long hours and even on weekends), so it is essential to make the most of your time there—looking fashionable and on-point, acting as a team player, and being friendly to your colleagues, management, and customers. In the next few points, I will offer several suggestions to help you achieve workplace happiness.
Dress Well
It is only natural for guys to want to look good at work (especially as you are currently reading a fashion blog!). Therefore, it is paramount to look after yourself, with regular grooming and even a total wardrobe overhaul every once in a while! If you are corporate-based (and deal with clients), you can opt for a classic shirt and tie or go top-level with a fitted three-piece suit. You can dial it down for casual Fridays with smart knit and crisp slim-fit trousers.
Incidentally, if you are running your own company, you will undoubtedly want your staff to look their absolute best, so investing in outfits for the workforce may be wise. You should include the company name, logo, or even country of origin, such as England, Scotland, or even branded clothing Ireland styles if you are based across the sea.
Bring In Your Own Lunch
Paying attention to what food you eat for fuel is critical to keeping your productivity high in the workplace. Many people regularly head out to eat during lunchtime, and it is very easy to get swept up in the moment and join them. However, this can often be very costly, and you may end up with huge portion sizes (which can be detrimental to your health and waistline!).
Instead, stay strong and focused and bring your own lunch and snacks to work each day. If you can stick to this mantra, you will have much more control over the different foods and ingredients you consume.
Your workplace may even have snacks and treats in the break room (a vending machine or the friendly lady who bakes cakes for the staff!), but you must politely decline these extra options. After all, heavy sugary foods filled with carbs will only slow you down and drain your energy (a dangerous effect at work).
Gather Feedback
One of the best ways to determine how you are performing at work is by gathering feedback. Ask to hold a meeting with your boss and discuss goals and any roadblocks you may be facing. Additionally, you can ask for input from your co-workers (especially those you have close contact with on a daily basis).
With information gathered in this way, you can gauge areas in which you can improve or what sectors you need to focus on and develop to do better at work. On the other hand, you will also be able to identify your strengths. With knowledge on both sides of the coin, you can concentrate on growing your position and career within the company.
Maintain A Good Work-Life Balance
Remember to keep an eye on the clock and ensure you work a normal amount of hours; otherwise, you may suffer from burnout. Focus on maintaining a good work-life balance to stay healthy and well.
Make time for your favourite activities, hobbies, and pastimes, and set boundaries at the office so you don’t always have to work overtime and stay late. If you are in management or running your own company, be firm with yourself and delegate tasks to the staff to remove any pressure from yourself.
It is important to have a great work-life balance. It keeps you grounded and offers something to look forward to at the end of each working day.
