Mon Carbone Black Diamond Luggage Review
Dapper gents who frequently travel need luggage to match their fashionable outlook on life. Yet, it can be difficult to find something suitable. In my latest blog post review, I look at the Mon Carbone Black Diamond Carbon Fiber Luggage, which aims to offer the perfect mix of style and functionality.
The Mon Carbone brand launched way back in 2007, beginning with small leather goods and smartphone cases (incidentally, this was around the time Apple entered the mobile market), and their keen eye for quality and style was apparent as soon the first collection hit the shelves.
The name Mon Carbone tells the tale of how they aim to use high-end quality carbon fiber materials in almost all of their products. After a handful of years cornering the market in smaller accessories, they have decided to turn their hand to something much larger – namely travel luggage. Leading straight in my latest review, I will give their newest model a thorough test drive.
Style & Design
As soon as you lay your eyes upon the luggage, you will instantly be in awe at its marvel of design – the shape is typical of luggage, rectangular, but it’s down to the details that set it apart from the competition. The Flextreme casing has a sleek structure (that is thin but impact-resistant) with horizontal lines running across the body. My version uses a unique deep racing green colourway (other options include grey and white), which can be paired with a selection of darker colours in your outfit (I opted for a formal charcoal overcoat and green roll-neck jumper). Its unique hue has the added benefit of allowing you to notice it quickly at the airport pick-up. The contrasting parts of the case include a dark grey (handle, locking mechanism, and wheels), which complements the main body.
The luggage boasts many features, such as the TSA lock for extra peace of mind during travel (to ensure your contents are untouched), a solid wheel structure for better traction during transport, and an easy grip handle to allow easier movement. The inside is spacious, with multi-zip closures on each side to safely store all of your belongings with a novel anti-bacterial lining to help keep germs at bay during packing and unpacking.
The Black Diamond case is more than sizeable for your worldwide excursions, as can be seen in the following specs –
- Dimensions: 22”
- Size: 366mm x 234mm x 570mm
- Volume: 39 L
- Weight: Aluminum frame 4kg (8.8 lbs.)
The quality on offer from the Mon Carbone luggage is second to none; brushing your fingertips across the case will instantly convince you that it is a high-end piece of equipment. The aluminium frame boasts an outstanding 30,000,000 carbon fiber strands weaved together, ensuring it will stand the test of time, especially during frequent long-distance travel trips. Your luggage will undoubtedly be on the receiving end of a few bumps and bangs (which is par for the course during flights around the world), and it will take these in its stride without any negative impacts on its shape and structure. In short, the workmanship is fantastic, and even the most hardened critic will agree with that statement.
Value For Money
There is no denying the Mon Carbone range sits in the upper echelon of premium products, and the price point reflects this – sitting at around $1650, it is for serious travellers and those who demand a quality item. If you can justify the cost, you will be more than happy with your brand-new luggage, and it will see you through your travel adventures for many years to come.
Frequent flyers deserve great luggage, allowing you to focus on your trip rather than worry about your belongings. Fortunately, Mon Carbone saves the day with its Black Diamond range – catwalk model looks, top-quality construction, amazing features, and amazing protection from damage. If you are shopping for new travel luggage and have the available funds, check out this amazing premium brand; you will not be disappointed.
