An Interview With Wise Barber

What was the idea behind creating Wise Barber?
A while back, during my first years in the haircutting business, I had a hard time finding the right names for certain hairstyles. And that made me do a lot of research. One major impediment was that very few websites offered all the information I needed. Therefore, I had to surf through many web pages just to get what I was looking for. It was not only tiresome but also sometimes confusing.
So, an idea came to mind, “What if I made a website?” A site where I could consolidate most – if not all – of the information to educate barbers and the general public about barbering & hair care. WiseBarber.com was (and still is) my way of sharing my professional knowledge, skills, insights, experiences, and answers to questions that many people have. And to date, I don’t think there is a similar project on the market with such a wide scope of quality information.
Have you always been in the barbering industry?
Yes, I started working in this field immediately after school. And that was over 10 years ago.
Do you have a favourite hairstyle for men?
Well, I like classics and different types of fades. For example, Skin Fades, Taper Fades, and Low Fades.
What is your favourite hair product on the market?
Barber scissors. I’ve always been fascinated by these tools’ history and development. Not to mention the fact that they are portable, easy to use, very efficient, and don’t need electricity to work. Therefore, even during a power blackout, it’s one of a few tools that I can always rely on to help me do what I love most – cutting and styling hair.
What is next for Wise Barber?
We still have a long way to go. Currently, we are planning to implement a new, refreshed design of the website, which will include many new features and subsets of information. For example, we’ll create a catalogue of the best barbershops and barbers as well as an updated catalogue of hair care products. Moreover, WiseBarber will start hosting various seminars and offering comprehensive online training for aspiring barbers.
