How To Style A Designer Capsule Wardrobe Outfit This Spring

Spring is just around the corner, so it is the perfect time to reinvigorate your clothing collection with a capsule wardrobe, focusing on your personal style with the minimum of effort for the new season.

It seems like only yesterday when we were in the midst of Winter, wrapping up warm in overcoats, sweaters and scarves; now, in the blink of an eye, we are on the cusp of spring which changes everything, especially with our clothing choices. Men who love fashion often own too many clothes in their wardrobe (I am guilty as charged!), we are now into a brand new year, and it’s time to clear away some of the excess and clutter and choose select pieces that will suit your overall personal style à la Capsule wardrobe.

On my journey to select new items, I headed to my regular online haunts to see what was available – one of my first destinations was the Very menswear collection offering a wide variety of designer and high street brands. After browsing through their extensive range of products, my eye caught the attention of the newest releases from Calvin Klein! So much choice, but I narrowed it down to the Onion Quilted Jacket, which features a rather unique body structure and design and notably features minimal branding for CK, who often has no shame in showing off their logo. Next up, I selected the vibrant blue lounge sweatshirt that is somewhat of a return to the status quo for Calvin, proudly showcasing the company name across the chest.

I also decided on a new accessory item to add something extra to the overall ensemble. In keeping with the premium style, I picked a pair of sunglasses from Burberry, one of the most iconic English designers. I’ve lived most of my summer life donning a pair of Aviator style shades; however, this time, I changed it up with a rectangular-shaped rim design, which I felt was truly refreshing and paired with my Calvin Klein pieces perfectly.

Although I chose a number of new pieces for this look, I still grabbed some of my old favourites, notably my James Jeans Skinny Denims for a close fit and my beloved Common Projects Chelsea Boots, which I have featured previously in their own dedicated review – click here.

As you can see from the including imagery, I headed out to Birmingham’s busy and bustling streets for a city vibe! I even managed to capture a bus in an admittedly luck-based photo when it photobombed me! Not as iconic as those world-famous London types, but still a cool pop of red in the shot nevertheless!

What are your thoughts on this new urban look I picked out? Do you favour the capsule wardrobe mantra, or do you grab anything and everything you like? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
