About The Brand
Vero Watches started life in Portland, Oregon, back in 2015, offering a small, yet impactful collection of horological pieces that were affordable for even a modest budget. Each item in their range is a tough, hard-wearing, and gritty number, designed to withstand even the harshest conditions.
Since their inception, they have established a reputation as champions of the modern American field watch, along with several dress watches for those glitzy formal occasions. They have gone one step further and launched a series of models that feature the iconic Smokey Bear face—a symbol that has been teaching citizens of the US about the risks of forest fires and how to prevent them since 1944.
Vero has combined this educational figure with a limited series of watch designs (with one celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Wildfire Prevention Campaign). For this article, I will focus my attention on the eye-catching “The Smokey Bear Campfire Edition” and share its technical specifications.
The Smokey Bear Campfire Edition Watch
The watch is undeniably stylish, thanks to a subtle (yet effective) grey face with the Smokey Bear symbol replacing the number 12, all of which is surrounded by a 315L stainless steel case. The hands and numerals are coated in Green Super LumiNova, and the timepiece is water resistant up to 120m. The leather strap (in a rugged tan colouring) offers a quick-release spring-bar system, so you can quickly swap over to the grey canvas NATO strap (included in the package).
Each watch from the Vero brand comes complete with a 10-year warranty (against any damage, which is a fantastic bonus!).

Packaging
Special mention must go to the packaging, which is both unique and eye-catching. An outer sleeve features all of the relevant branding (including the Smokey Bear face). Inside, you will discover a beige box (with a forest tree monogram print) that lifts open to reveal the watch (and spare strap and spring bars) sitting safely within a soft grey inlay. If you are a fan of knick-knacks, you will be happy to find a pin badge included, which you can wear proudly on your chest during your exploration adventures.
