Blackout Clothing was established in early 2023 to bring a typically unheard-of quality into the casual clothing market. Unhappy with the products already out there, the team based in Wales decided enough was enough and planned to launch their collection. The brand name was born thanks to the use of black, grey, and white tones (for “that blackout look”) in their range of products.
So far, they have a variety of t-shirts and hoodies available, and for my review, I have grabbed some of my favourites – continue reading to find out more.
Style & Design
Signature Tee
You can never go wrong with a classic fit-tee; that ultimate go-to crew neck will never go out of style. I chose the white model, perfect for layering or a simple tee outfit. The design is simple yet effective, with minimal branding on the hem and the lower section of the reverse.
Oversized Tee
In recent years, I’ve grown to love oversized clothing; looser fits paired with slim or skinny jeans create a great look. This tee has a lovely boxy structure that portrays a fantastic shape when worn – I picked out the grey marl colourway (but they also offer white and black too).
Signature Hoodie
Complete your casual wardrobe with the ever-reliable hoodie, especially for those easy days lounging around or even popping to the shops. This model is designed to perfection, sleek all black (although other colours are available) with a large front pocket and the brand’s logo near the hem on the back.
Wearability
These casual pieces are easy to wear; you can rock them with jeans (skinny is my preference), slim joggers, or even shorts (on those hot summer days). Sneakers are the ideal choice of footwear to complete that street-style vibe, although casual boots (think suede Chelsea Boots) can offer a unique look, too. You can top off the ensemble with a number of accessories – cap, watch, and jewellery pieces (necklace, bracelets, and rings).
Sizing
The brand offers a full range of sizing options, and I selected my standard size of a small – this turned out to be the perfect choice, giving me freedom of movement but with a fit that forms a fantastic silhouette.
Value For Money
I always state you need to splash out the cash when it comes to clothes shopping; this case is no exception. They may be priced in the premium bracket, but you get a quality product with soft fabric, and no flaws can be seen (even if you are looking with a fine toothcomb!).
