I have always had a special place in my heart for the iconic-looking peacoat (in part due to my fascination with war movies!). Its style and shape are truly timeless. Originally created by the Dutch navy during the 1800s, it was soon adopted by the British and US military (and is still popular in the forces today). After the close of WW2, its popularity spread into the mainstream, and it has been a staple in men’s fashion ever since.
When I noticed that Hockerty (who I have featured previously in a sneaker review—click here) had created its own iteration of the classic peacoat, I knew I just had to grab one for my collection! So, without further ado, let’s dive straight into the review!
Style & Design
I have already mentioned my love of the peacoat style, and the Hockerty model cements my adoration even further – it is undoubtedly gorgeous! That striking Army Green (although I describe it as an olive) is ideal for the current season, especially as the remnants of the autumn leaves are still visible along the ground.
As with all of their products, it is far more than simply adding the coat to your basket and making the purchase – Hockerty offers a seemingly never-ending list of customisation options to ensure the end result will be everything you ever dreamed of.

Throughout my adult life, I have frequently purchased overcoats and jackets from stores (even high-end), and inevitably, I have been disappointed with the product—either too large in the shoulders, baggy arms, or sleeves that are too long (which is always a deal-breaker).
When my peacoat arrived, as soon as I slipped it on, any hesitations I had were instantly dispelled. Everything was spot-on from the shoulders to the sleeves; in short, the coat boasted a flawless fit all over, making me more than happy!

The base price for the coat is below £300, yet due to the vast customisation options, the cost can jump well beyond £500. However, the quality on offer is second to none; the construction is absolutely perfect with no flaws to be seen (and I am very fussy!).
