My Picture Brand Interview
In my latest blog post, I am proud to present an interview with the content manager William Kenny from the My-Picture brand to find out more about their history and products! Read on to find out more!
When was My-Picture founded?
My-Picture.co.uk is part of the Picanova Group, a German-based custom printing company that was founded in 2006 in Cologne. Since that time My-Picture.co.uk has served hundreds of thousands of customers in the UK.
What was the idea in creating the My-Picture brand?
It all started when two brothers – the co-founders of Picanova – wanted to find a way to combine art and photography. A lot of people love to decorate their homes with wall art – paintings and posters, for example – but at the same time their own beautiful pictures often end up half-forgotten in photo albums or computer storage. The main aim of My-Picture.co.uk is to change this pattern and give our customers’ personal photos a new life as home decor.
What’s the most popular product in your range?
Our flagship product since day one has been canvas prints. With its frameless aesthetic and unrivalled versatility, we think canvas is a truly universal wall art item. What’s more, our canvas prints come with a lowest-price guarantee for the UK, with prices starting at just £6.
As for other products in the My-Picture range, our snug photo blankets are always popular in the cold season. We make our blankets from premium plush – soft, warm, and breathable, it’s ideal for cosying up on the couch on chilly winter evenings.
What’s the most common style of photograph uploaded by your customers?
We print loads of pictures every year and we must say our customers are super creative when it comes to the photos they upload – we’ve printed pet portraits, landscape photography, studio images and even many digital designs. But the most popular type of photo is, of course, family pictures – people printing photo portraits of their loved ones, or snaps of happy times they’ve spent together. People love buying family photo canvas prints for their own homes, and they’re also very popular as gifts.
What’s next for the My-Picture brand?
We want to make custom printing fun for everyone – including younger generations. That’s why we’ve partnered up with PAW Patrol – the beloved TV series about a group of brave puppies and their adventures. We now print canvas, mugs, and pillows in a range of colourful PAW Patrol designs that can be personalised with any name of your choice.
