My Very First Halloween Outfit For 2019!

Happy Halloween 2019! As you can see from the photos, my latest outfit is very spooky inspired for the occasion! Read on to find out more!

After many years of running my men’s fashion blog, this is the very first time I have ever done anything themed around an event or occasion. For Lorna it is something of a tradition each year, partaking in both Halloween and Christmas and her readers look forward to it. We had talked about what I was going to wear more than a few times, but it was pushed to the sidelines until the last minute. On one of the evenings, it suddenly came to me in a flash to get some pumpkins, carve them (which I have also never done before) and utilise them as props for our upcoming shoot.

Naturally, I ended up with a huge pumpkin, dwarfing Lorna’s quite substantially, but in turn, it was also quite heavy and cumbersome. Lorna also had to give me a quick lesson in how to carve the pumpkin, including how to cut it open and remove all the contents (which was quite gruesome in itself, perfect for the occasion!). I ended up having mine quite monstrous in design, complete with pointy sharp teeth and peering eyes, Lorna’s, in contrast, was cute and sweet, she commented that it suited our personalities! Nevertheless, I enjoyed getting involved in this way, designing and cutting out the face shape, even the more disgusting parts were fun!

Outfit

For the outfit, as the pumpkin was the main centrepiece, the rest of the outfit was something quite simple and basic. I grabbed a beige hoodie from BooHoo, added a pair of washed black jeans from Seven For All Mankind, few pieces of hand jewellery (rings from ASOS), and my ensemble was complete! As the weather was particularly bad – dark and raining, it only helped with the creepy vibe I was aiming to achieve. In post-production, I additionally removed any trace of my face to give it an extra level of horror!

My first experience with a Halloween themed outfit post was undoubtedly a positive one. I am already looking forward to next year – I will plan it more thoroughly though, in advance (well that would be the plan!). What do you think of this different kind of post on my blog? Would you like to see more like this? Also, did you dress up for this years 31st October? Let me know in the comments!
