Ideas To Decorate Your Bedroom In 2022

Home decor is very much based upon your personal style; however, if you are looking for inspiration, it is often catered more towards families or feminine designs. Masculine designs also have their place in the bedroom, allowing you to relax during the evening and night after a long work day. In my latest post, I take a look at a handful of tips when designing your bedroom, especially on a budget.

Artwork

One of the best ways to decorate your bedroom is with wall art, but with so many choice available, it can be difficult to know where to start. Instead of choosing a well-known piece, perhaps instead opt for something that you personally enjoy in life – family, pets, or vacations for example. One option is to go for different shaped canvas prints that can bring your walls to life, while adding a touch of your own personality too. You can upload your own images of almost anything you have stored on your camera or even phone that can be forever immortalised on your bedroom wall (a day out with friends or even a favourite meal you cooked!).

Colour Schemes

It used to be almost traditional to select masculine colours (blues) when decorating a man’s bedroom as opposed to pinks for a female room. Interestingly, this was a recent idea; in the late 19th century, the colours were opposite. However, in this day and age, a lot has changed and the cemented social norms have started to fall-away, giving everyone a lot more choice with many things, including colour choices. You can opt for colours that can help maximise your space or that complement the overall style. As it is your bedroom, you will need to pick what you like for you, rather than cultural preferences or what tones are popular and on-trend.

Well-being

It is critical to cater to your own taste and style when choosing your decor; it is also important to consider your wellbeing. If your room lacks space, with the walls too busy or the shelves and desks cluttered, you may find it hard to relax. An untidy bedroom may contribute to poor quality sleep, in turn causing you to suffer from anxiety. It is wise to carefully select the items you have displayed in your room and excess pieces could be moved to other areas of the house or even into storage to save space. When decorating your bedroom, it is not necessary to aim for a style that screams ‘bachelor’ and instead think about a colour scheme that makes you overall happy and allows you to unwind at the end of the day.
